PreAP Biology Labs

Labs require a certain format which at first may seem to be tedious, but in the long run the foundation we build provides students advantages not only in upper level high school science classes, but in higher academic circles. Missing pages, erasing or using correction fluids (white out), skipping pages, and writing in non-permanent ink or pencil in the lab book is consider academic dishonesty. These items afford opportunity to dishonestly manipulate data to meet expected results. Some university and college institutions may remove the students from their program or in the most extreme cases ask the student to leave.

There are two basic types of labs we do: formal write up and an observation write up. I will give the students specific instructions for observation lab write ups as the format will depend on the specific observation lab we are doing. The links are specific handouts given to the students to help them with the formal write up. The technical aspects information is to be followed regardless of lab write up type required.

The specific labs we are doing or have done are listed below. Lab expectations is gone over in class so there may not be any handout given to the student. When handouts are given, the lab listed will be linked to that document. Please note the documents were converted from their original file type into html and some formatting changes may have occurred. Also, I have tried to indicate which labs were formal write ups and which were observational labs.
